I finally took the plunge. I brought home today a brand new Apple iMac 20″ computer. So the transition from Windows begins.
I plan to blog the transition so any who may follow can see what pitfalls I find along the way and how I overcome them. I’ve added a Switcher category for these posts.
One of the first steps was to install Firefox. I wanted to do this for reasons of consistency. It was an easy install and moving over my bookmarks was just as easy as I am already a user of Google Browser Sync – which enables easy syncing of bookmarks, cookies, history and even open pages between multiple invocations – even multiple copies – of Firefox. I normally use it simply to remember which windows I have open and to keep this consistent between home and work. So today I just turned on bookmark syncing on the Windows box, let it sync, then installed the plugin on the iMac and signed in. Voila!
