PLEASE STOP sending me PowerPoint files!
This software is much maligned by a significant portion of the population and that is when it is being used properly! Used as a vehicle for choking the net with overly compressed JPEGs and tacky ‘flying text’ effects it should be punished by dipping the perpetrators in cream and leaving them in a room full of hungry cats.
If the pictures are worth seeing, then they’re worth treating with respect by not compressing the hell out of them. Helloo people! We’re in the broadband era now! And if your text needs to fly to have an impact, then perhaps your text really just doesn’t fly.
For the record:
- I don’t run Office/PowerPoint
- My alternate office software makes a hash of these PowerPoint files (but does a fine job on REAL documents).
So, get a web site and learn to put your pictures on it and send me a link. Welcome to the 21st century!
P.S. Not your pictures? If you wouldn’t put them on your own website, why would you feel OK emailing them?
