For many years I used a Palm-branded PDA for calendaring, contacts and the like. In all that time I do not remember ever coming across a bug in those bundled applications. It was pretty solid, if simple stuff.
Enter the iPhone with it’s touted ‘full operating system.’ With such a foundation you’d expect to encounter bugs and the iPhone doesn’t disappoint.
There are the not infrequent quitting applications (in many cases considered to be an OS issue), the occasional complete freeze of the device and the randomly occurring slow downs, especially in the Apple-provided applications.
But with it’s touch screen technology replacing the need for physical keyboards, you’d expect the old PC problem of a ‘stuck keyboard’ would be a thing of the past, right?
Nope! As the picture below illustrates, it can still happen! This occurred to me this morning and whilst the stuck ’9′ disappeared at times, it inevitably returned, even overlaid on the lock screen with battery charging display!
Yes folks! With power comes flexibility -and complexity and failure.
