Free as in speech and free as in beer

Tux WindowsThe title refers to the concept of Open Software which is normally described as “free as in speech, not as in beer.” However much Open Software is also free as in beer anyway. One of the most popular (and populous) pieces of Open Source software is Linux, one flavour of which is Ubuntu. Now the folks at Ubuntu have a plan.

They have produced a list of Open Source software that runs on Windows. It’s called the LoopList. Their plan, it seems is to get everybody to take advantage of this great software on Windows and thus make the switch to Linux that much easier as all the same software is available on the Linux platform too! Genius!

As I write this there are over 120 products listed including over 30 games.
