Politically inconsequential?
The election hoardings decorating our suburbs of late are, for the most part, a collossal waste of time and money. Granted it (probably) isn’t my money that’s paying for them, but I’d love to know what those who are paying think.
“Party Vote Labour” doesn’t really say a lot, or grab one’s attention. Precisely what is the intent of the signs, I wonder? To remind us that Labour still exists and would dearly love us to vote for them? The National Party is no better.
No, it’s like a nagging reminder that this small number of people are begging for our attention at this one time in the three year cycle, knowing full well if they get enough attention now, they can ignore us for the next three years.
I believe (nay hope) the signs are now clear that Helen has done her dash. Too much has slid off her that should have stuck and she is showing no sign of abandoning the arrogance that has marked her leadership from the beginning. So now we can look forward to cursing and getting sick of a National government for the next three to nine years. Sigh.
